The Diary of Anne Frank.

The Diary of Anne Frank was written by Anne Frank.

Anne Frank was born in 1929 in Frankfurt. When the Nazis were in power, she moved with her family to the Netherlands because they were Jews. The anti-Semitic laws started to apply there.

The Jews tried to avoid being arrested. The Frank family hid behind a secret door at the top of an old house in Amsterdam.

Anne wrote in her diary everything that was happening in her live. One day, Germans found them and they were arrested. The Germans brought the family to a concentration camp. Anne died early because of this. Her diary was published in 1946 by her father.

This book shows how terrible the Nazis were to the Jews.

The boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

The boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a novel by John Boyne. It was written in 2006.

Bruno was nine years old and he was the son of a Nazi Commandant. His family abandoned Berlin and moved to Auschwitz for his father’s work. From the window of his new room, Bruno saw people who always wore a pair of “striped pyjamas”. Actually these people were Jewish prisoners. Bruno decided to go to explore their new home. Through the security fence of the camp he met Shmuel. He was a Polish Jewish boy. Bruno and Shmuel became good friends. Bruno brought him food every day and gave it to him through the fence.

Shmuel could not find his father, so Bruno decided to cross the fence. They were looking for Shmuel ‘s father when it started to rain. The camp guards escorted them to a “warm” and “safe” place. The children went into a gas chamber and were killed with other Jewish people.

Ken Follet

Ken Follet is my favourite writer. He was born on 5 June 1949 in Cardiff, Wales. When Ken Follet was ten years old, he moved with his family to London.

His parents didn’t let him go to the cinema or watch television, so he started to read many books about many different topics.

He started to study philosophy at University College of London in 1967.
Ken Follet studied journalism for three months, but he didn’t find a good job as a reporter, so he started to edit books.

In 1970, Ken Follet became the assistant manager of Libros Everest.

One day, his car broke down, so he decided to start writing to get the money to repair it.

Writing began to be his hobby. At first, his books weren’t very famous, but later, Ken Follet wrote many bestsellers. Some of them are “A Place Called Freedom”, “The Third Twin”, “The Pilars of the Earth”, “Night over Water”, “Fall of Giants” and “The Key to Rebecca”.
